A world traveler since a young age, Marie is a native of Limoges, France. You know, where they make the porcelain... After getting her Master's in English studies and translation at the University of Nice, Marie decided to spend some time in Ireland as a teaching assistant at the University of Cork. Since the palm trees were calling again, she decided to move to beautiful San Diego where she started working as a translator. From there she quickly moved on to becoming a French project manager and experienced the world of localization for the first time. And that was just what she had been looking for: she fell in love with San Diego and localization...
A scholar at heart, she got her MBA in International Business. In the meanwhile, she continued working in the localization industry, managing complex projects and learning more about graphic and web design as well as engineering. And she moved up the ladder until she got to manage and train the managers... After 10 years in the localization industry helping many clients and loving every single minute of it, she is now one of the co-founders of BeatBabel. She hopes to share her passion for languages with the world and continue helping clients explore international realms.
On weekends, you might catch her practicing some taiji in Balboa park, rambling the streets of San Diego a camera in her hand, skiing down a slope in Mammoth or listening to singer-songwriters in a local café. If you have still no luck finding her, you may want to try Le Loir dans la Théière in Paris where she will be sipping coffee with family or friends...
