Ramiro lives in Puerto Vallarta near the beach. Born in Mexico and having lived in Texas, USA for 13 years, Ramiro excels in both Spanish and English. After earning his 2 master’s degrees he decided to work as a full-time translator. If one day he were to stop translating, he would study astronomy or psychology and travel around the world.
Ramiro began translating academic materials for his professors while pursuing his master’s degree in Spanish. He enjoys learning new information from the subjects of translation and sees translation as a natural way to convey information between languages.
As a freelance translator, he can decide where to work and when to stop. In some cases, when he receives a high volume of work, he works for long hours. Ramiro enjoys his partnership with BeatBabel because it provides a steady stream of interesting projects and a pleasant work environment with reasonable timelines and communicative project managers.
Ramiro is self-disciplined, both as a translator and as a marathon runner. He wakes up early every day and runs for 10 miles before he starts working at 9 am. When he is training for a marathon, he will boost his morning jog to 15 miles.
In his work he is efficient and highly responsive. “The secret?” he said, with a big smile, “When I work, I listen to history or scientific documentaries, or music; it helps me focus!”
